"UBUNTU"

Kapag OFW ka, madali kang maka-adapt sa kultura ng kahit anong bansa na pagtatrabahuhan mo dahil aside from being generally resilient, we are also very intact as a people.

We all have to survive.

We all have that kindness and care for our fellow countrymen, nababawasan at natatabunan lang minsan ng harsh realities ng buhay.

The point is, if we'll just try to see the goodness in our kabayans, we'd never be disappointed and feel anything less being Filipinos because we'd know where they're coming from. If we can just tap on that love of every Filipino towards our kabayans, we can definitely make a huge impact!

Regardless of what really transpired backdoor in EDSA People Power I, II, and/or III, they're still undeniable demonstrations of strength of the people to realize the promise of change. Two years ago, we were able to elect a president who won't even accept donations for his candidacy.

Andami naging makabayan all of a sudden.

People power pa rin ba ang tawag 'dun? Are we under a colonial rule? Are we under a totalitarian rule? The answer is no. However, we are still a poor country. As of 2016, there were a total of 101.57 million Filipinos; 25.2% of the population lived below the national poverty line.

We are under a national crisis and it's been the case for decades. We can do it individually or we can do it together. Sabi nga nila, "If you wanna go fast, go alone. If you wanna go far, go together."
I think, the most remarkable qualities of Filipinos arise in the midst of adversity.

We can make a difference as a people! We just have to try to remember the bayanihan spirit, try to listen to the katupunero within, try to be makabayan again or whatever term you [millennials] wanna call it these days... that collective consciousness as Filipinos.

We just need UBUNTU.
An Anthropologist proposed a game to some tribe children...He placed a basket of sweets near a tree and made the children stand 100 meters away. Then, announced that whoever reaches first would get all the sweets in the basket. When he said "Ready. Set. Go!"...Do you know what the children did? They all held each other's hands, ran together towards the tree, divided the sweets equally among themselves, ate the sweets and enjoyed it.When the Anthropologist asked them why they did so, they answered... "UBUNTU". It means, "How can one be happy when others are sad?" or literally means "I am because we are" in their language. They're from Southern Africa.
Tara, classmates... magaral tayo kung paano umasenso!
