A SIMPLE AND EASY-TO-USE TRADING TRACKER

Please watch the video to see how to create your Trading Journal. For further info, I've written the step-by-step instructions below.
Ancient Greeks and Romans were using a mnemonic system wherein a person mentally associates items with specific physical locations. It's called "The Method Of Loci". There are different ways to organize thoughts and ideas. Apparently, we cannot use this technique in keeping records of our trades.

Keeping a chronicle of your daily routines, learning materials, trading plans, executions, research, charts of virtual and actual trades, and your overall progress requires an equally organized system. In order to know where you stand and evaluate your growth as a trader as accurate as possible, you need to keep a record of your activities as detailed as possible.

There's a lot of mentors who've been telling us about how important a trading journal is in our journey. Sabi nga nila: study the market, find your niche, devise a simple trading system, plan your trade, trade your plan, evaluate, repeat.

However, our meager knowledge of using formulas in MS Excel has limited us in accounting our activities methodically. We know exactly what info we are supposed to input but unsure how to do it, not to mention that we have to keep on renewing our subscription of MS Office Suites to use it.

Writing it all down is a very effective way to track all our activities and progress. However, it's kind of difficult to organize the notes and printouts all the time. It's just messy, not to mention the fact that it consumes paper, physical space and you have to carry it with you.

How long would it take to organize all of that information and compute your overall profitability as a trader EOD, EOM, EOY if you'll keep on using notebooks and scratch papers for your notes? I've been working in BPO companies and we handle and process a massive amount of info day in and day out. And using trackers has always proved to be very handy.

That's why I have prepared a Google Spreadsheet as a simple tracker of our daily progress or mas kilala sa tawag na "Trading Journal".

They are more intuitive, user-friendly, easy to edit and share, flexible and accessible anywhere anytime for as long as you have an internet connection.

I also suggest na gumamit kayo ng chrome.

> Now, Click “go to google sheets”. Kapag nasa Google Sheets Home Page na kayo, click nyo ang bookmark or star button sa upper right corner sa dulo ng address bar para isang click na lang next time sa google sheets icon, mao-open na ninyo ito agad. Please click HERE for the link of the template that I've prepared for you.

Then, you have to make a copy muna po dahil hindi nyo po ito mae-edit.

> Click on "file" sa upper left corner, select "make a copy". That's the time na you can edit the contents in the tracker. Let me give you a run-down of the contents sa mga cells:
The activities would be depending on your daily routine po. As for me, una sa list ko ang mga morning routines ng mga successful people plus our groups's WEEKLY BABY STEPS CHALLENGE like smiling before getting up from bed, meditation, etc. and then progressive workout naman.

For me, umpisa muna sa 15-min cardio for the first two weeks, 3 times a week. Then, 30-minute cardio, full 1-hour, and so on and so forth.
  • You just have to tick the checkbox kung natapos mo ang particular activity for that day.
  • Next, affirmations and declarations. You can download a copy of "Secrets Of A Millionaire Mind" HERE para mas maintindihan po ninyo ito.
Anyway, same din yan sa exercises. Kung nakapanuod ka ba ng inspirational youtube video for that day, then tick the checkbox. Inspirational movie, tick the box.
Lagi ko itong sinasabi, “the more you give, the more you receive.”
  • And lastly, yung section for virtual trading. Blank pa yan kasi back to zero ako dahil naka-focus lang ako ngayon sa daily routine ko or mas kilala sa tawag na intangibles. Kaka 3rd monthsary ko pa lang nung August 5 after ng seminar kaya no pressure hehe
Kung gusto naman po ninyo gumawa ng sarili ninyong template and start from scratch, ito po ang mga gagawin:

> Kung nakasave na po sa inyong bookmarks ang link, you just have to click the "google sheet icon" sa bandang ilalim ng address bar. Punta kayo sa "template gallery".

> Hanapin nyo "project management".

> Click on "Gantt chart". Then, edit as you see fit. Tinanggal ko ang label na Gantt chart pati yung wbs number and task owner by deleting the rows/columns. Select nyo muna yung ide-delete ninyo na rows/columns. Click the upper-most/left most cell then right click at hanapin ang delete rows/columns.

'Yung mga task title pinalitan ko lang. Pati start dates, due dates, duration, percentage, and so on. Select the upper most cell kung saan ninyo gusto ilagay ang additional columns, right click, insert 1 right or insert 1 left. Pinalitan ko yung T ng Tu at yung R ng Th.

> I merged yung ibang cells para mas maganda tignan kagaya ng mga nilagyan ko ng 3 times a day at daily which serves as the frequency ng gagawin kong activity. Select nyo muna ang ime merge ninyo na cells, then click "format", then "merge cells, tapos "merge all".

Just right click yung cell na paglalagyan mo then click "insert note".

Marami pa pwede gawin sa google sheets. Explore nyo lang po.

> Everytime may gagawin kayo sa spreadsheet ninyo, makikita ninyo dito na “saving...” sa bandang itaas ng page then after a few seconds “all changes saved in drive”. If you're wondering kung nasaan ang drive na tinutukoy dito, you can search sa google ang "google drive" or check the link below. Autosave po kaya less hassle.

> After nyo mag edit, at kung gusto po ninyo ito ishare sa inyong mentor or other classmates, click nyo po ang “share” button sa upper right corner ng page. Pwedeng ishare nyo yan through email. Pwedeng "can edit", "can comment" lang, or "view only" lang. For advanced settings, click ninyo ang "advanced". Then click send.

The reason I call this a "tracker" is because mata-track or mamo-monitor kayo ng inyong mentor real-time dahil makikita n'ya ang mga edits ninyo at the very same time habang ginawa ninyo ito. No need to send updated copies of excel every single time na hihingi si mentor dahil all they need is the link of the file.

HERE is a sample document. You just have to click the "share" button sa upper right corner ng Google Docs na sinave mo, then click on "get shareable link". Then, balikan mo yung Google Sheets/Tracker mo then paste the link na magsisilbing notes sa corresponding cell na gusto mo paglagyan nito.

Click on "file", "download as", then pili na kayo ng format.

Thank you sa panunuod and god bless your trading journey!
